Third Rail Bar and Grill reached out and asked for a mural that celebrates Big Lake and its history. They gave me a handful of landmarks, buildings, and logos they wanted included in the mural. The challenge was including all of these elements in a piece without it being too overwhelming or randomly scattered.

From the initial meeting to the week of painting, many of the elements that needed to be included changed, so even a week into painting the mural, I was changing the design and coming up with new compositional ideas as I went.

The present day main street mirrors what it used to look like along with other old iconic buildings. The mural sits right next to the train track, so the main focus of the piece is the train connecting the past to present!
